ResourcesFebruary 16, 2022The UK ICO opens a public consultation on the use of data for research purposes

The UK Information Commissioners’ Office (ICO) has opened a public consultation on the draft guidance on the research provisions in the UK GDPR and the DPA 2018. Processing of personal data for research purposes is regulated by data protection laws despite the absence of a specific legislation on this, so the guidance is intended to provide more detail and clarity about this complicated area of data protection and help those engaged in research to carry out their processing while being compliant with applicable regulations.

The public consultation is accessible here, the deadline to submit feedback is 22 April 2022.
