In a letter addressed to members of Congress, US Chamber of Commerce along with other business organizations stressed the need for a federal privacy law in order to protect consumers equally across the nation. Currently the US see multiple state privacy laws with which businesses have comply and adopt related enforcement policies, rendering business operations rather complex and resource consuming.
