The California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) passed in November 2020 goes into effect on 1st January 2021. It includes additional privacy protections for consumers tightening requirements on businesses and corporations surrounding data collection from consumers. The Connecticut Senate has voted unanimously to pass a consumer privacy bill which is generally modelled on the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA) of 2021 with some differences such as providing for greater children’s data privacy rights.
