The Federal Trade Commission has issued a proposed order to ban the online counselling service BetterHelp, Inc. The Commission aims at preventing the company from revealing consumers’ sensitive data to Facebook and others for targeted advertising. BetterHelp has been also required to pay $7.8 million for deceiving consumers by promising the protection of their sensitive data.
