Arun Babu

Arun Babu is a lawyer with the Bangalore office of Kochhar and Co. Arun is dual qualified and holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering along with his law degree. He is also a qualified cybersecurity professional and holds a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from the International Council of E-Commerce Consultants (EC Council).

Arun is part of the TMT law practice group at Kochhar and Co. where he is regularly involved in analysing new technology and telecommunication products and advising on related legal and regulatory issues. He specialises in advising clients on Indian data privacy laws, data access and data localization laws, and cybersecurity laws.

In addition to the foregoing, Arun has wide experience in advising on information security governance and risk management, information security policy violations, and data theft. He also has substantial experience in counseling clients on Indian telecommunication laws, fintech laws, gaming laws, digital health laws, intellectual property laws, and e-commerce laws.

Arun also has a keen interest in analyzing emerging technologies and their intersection with the law.
